Setting up your Hikvision NVR or DVR for the first time is crucial for ensuring a reliable and secure surveillance system. Follow these step-by-step instructions to configure your device and connect it to your cameras, network, and storage.
Step 1: Unbox and Connect the Hardware

- Ensure the package includes the NVR/DVR, power adapter, cables, and a mouse.

- Cameras: Connect your cameras to the NVR/DVR via network cables (NVR) or coaxial cables (DVR). Please note if using POC (Power over Coax) power supplies are not needed for the cameras.
- Monitor: Attach a monitor using the HDMI or VGA port.
- Power Supply: Connect the NVR/DVR and cameras to power sources if needed.
- Network: Plug the NVR/DVR into your router or switch using an Ethernet cable for network access.
